The Cherokee Family Violence Center (CFVC) provides a broad palette of social, financial, and legal services to victims of domestic violence throughout the Cherokee County, Georgia area. Some of the center’s numerous free services include a bilingual 24-hour crisis line, a teen violence awareness program, legal aid, and court advocacy. CFVC also provides critical housing assistance by operating a secure and safe emergency shelter, acting as a liaison in the search for income-based housing, and facilitating applications for public assistance.
CFVC strives to reduce domestic violence while increasing a client’s ability to recover from it through several individual and community education programs. These programs help clients further their education, learn how to create a personal safety program, increase personal literacy, and provide community outreach to enhance understanding of and compassion for families and children affected by domestic violence.
